Overview
Business Process Mapping (also known as Workflow and Process Modeling)
provides your executive team with a document that details current organization-wide business processes.
Workflows that cross multiple facilities and departmental
lines, especially within growing healthcare systems, are often an inefficient
patchwork of steps from previous facility or department-based practices.
Business Process Mapping provides an objective map of these processes and highlights
key improvement areas. Huron's business mapping service was developed by a staff member with experience and training in healthcare management and information technology.
Process
After initial meeting with
executives, members of the Huron staff will meet in groups or one-on-one
with key employees to document current workflows. Follow-up meetings
are conducted over the phone or via remote computing capabilities as
process maps are prepared for presentation.
Deliverables
Your organization will be provided with multiple process maps that display
step-by-step interactions between departments, facilities, and key personnel
and highlight specific steps that can be eliminated or streamlined.
These maps are constructed in a logical, easy-to-understand format,
and are Board presentation quality.
